CLIA Supports Industry Cyber Security Guidelines

The cruise industry is actively engaged in efforts to protect cruise ship computer systems in collaboration with a joint shipping industry group. This group established the Guidelines on Cyber Security Onboard Ships, which provide valuable information on applying a risk based approach to areas of concern, including how an individual’s unwitting actions might expose their organisation to cyber risks. Acknowledged by the IMO, these Guidelines have been well received by the industry and offer the most comprehensive guidance for the shipping industry today. The Guidelines are reviewed and updated on an ongoing basis.

The Guidelines on Cyber Security Onboard Ships is available to download on the joint industry working group websites.

The joint industry working group members are: BIMCO, Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), International Association of Dry Cargo Shipowners (INTERCARGO), International Association of Independent Tanker Owners (INTERTANKO), International Union of Maritime Insurance (IUMI) and Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF).
